I got all the receipts and FP notice from VSC on 10/15. Everything was filed on 7/31 and sent to TSC. FP date was 10/30. Got EAD last week and they want ID again for AP. 485 has been trasnferred to TSC now.

20K ...is that what it cost you so far ??? that is way too expensive.. I agree how can a poor laborer afford such fees ?
I am single & have invested $14k towards GC (old labor RIR itself $6,900/140/485/ead/ap/premium fees) & still counting (coming up $1000 for H1 extension, $700 ead/ap renewal). And to think initially my Attorney quoted $7,500 :mad: for the entire process, then manipulated to the current fees.
If I had known all this b4hand, would have just found someone to marry years ago. Now I cannot afford a decent apartment/stable address with all these hurdles. :mad:

I'm getting ready to apply for my EAD extension. Should I be asking for/expecting one-year EAD or a Three-year EAD? Has the rule already been published by USCIS? Should my lawyer be doing something different from last time?
Another question is: Are we also going to get a 3-year AP?

hopefully if we pay the $340 for EAD and $305 for AP for each person, we do not have to pay for it again until we get a decision on our GC.We just have to keep renewing these two without paying again..Please correct me if i am wrong.So its like pay one last time..hopefully.
I believe unless you filed I-485 under the revised fee structure last year, you need to pay for EAD and AP renewal every time you have to renew.

We travelled last year from Kochi to SFO with no issue. Yes you have to go secondary room. Based on the number of people ahead of you, your wait can vary. But once its your turn it should take only less than 5 mins.

Hi All,
I am in tough situation. Hope you can help me. I applied and got OPT card on DEC-2007. I thought I can complete my MASTER's by that time but one of my proff gave me D grade and according to University rules, I cannot graduate if I have D grade in Graduating Semester(Even though I have 3.09 GPA including that subject). Right now I enrolled in an online course and I will graduating in MAY2008, at the same time I am in Consultancy who are applying for my H1. They don't have any idea about my Case and are really confused when I gave the Graduation status letter that was issued by our University.
This is the matter that I have in my Graduate Status letter.
"This is to verify that harish is graduate student in good standing, currently working on Master of Science degree with a major in Electrical Engineering. He has successfully completed 30 of the 33 required hours of enrollment on his graduate plan of study, and is currently enrolled in the remaining three hours. He has passed his exit examination, and has submitted his application for the degree for the spring semester of 2008. Provided that he successfully completes his final enrollment, he would be awarded his degree. Spring 2008 degrees will be officially conferred on May 26th, 2008. Diplomas and official transcripts that display spring awards will become available approximately the third week of July, 2008"
Is this enough to apply for H1 in Master's Quota? if not what is the right way to apply and get H1 safely. I am planning to apply H1 with Bachelors even to be on safe side but we all know the chance of getting H1 with Bachelors is very less.
Please help me what to do with this situation and having letter from the university.
I believe that you need the actual diploma (you send a photocopy of it to USCIS) for getting counted in the M.S. quota. Most schools give the diploma once you have finished all requirements.

Thanks for your reply and I understand that AC21 can be used for job in same or similar occupation.
But my questions is that what happen if my GC applied thru Emp A for "programmer analyst" with 60K and now I am planning to change my job with Emp B as "Sr. Program Manager" with 100K?
Since my Emp A (GC sponsor) agree to continue the GC process, why do i need to invoke AC21 with Emp B?

Since this thread is open and dont want to wast resouce on new thread. I want to ask people those who had already filed 485/EAD/AP that did anyone has taken photos at Walgreens.
I am getting $7.99 for taking 2 photos at Walgreens($48 for 2person with 6 photos deal) in Milwaukee. Whereas in Kinko's I am getting deal of $13.50 for first 2 photo and rest 4 photos for $13.50 ($54 for 2 person with 6 photos deal) in Milwaukee city area.
Now question besides money I want to know which one is worth taking chance for taking a picture interms of quality.

Thanks again Kirupa. I went back over the above post and it helped me answere some of the questions I had, but I do have one more if you don't mind. I have this little project almost wrapped up now. When complete the app will do the following:
-Imports Metadata.xml file generated by Deep Zoom Composer
-On import it will populate the databound image and text boxes with the original data
-On import it will also add four new "tag" elements to the original xml file
-The user will be able to navigate all of the original images and coresponding tags (your MIX08 presentation helped me create the navigation piece ((thanks!))
-The user can add new "tag" data to any of the old and new fields and the new data will overwrite the original xml file when the "save" button is clicked.
I have everything working great. Now I just need to figure out how to take my new "tag" elements and add them into all of the nodes on import. I know how to do this to one node, but I am not sure how to add the new elements to every "Image" node in the file. Here is the code I am using to make this work for the first node:

I am currently looking for a job and I have a US Master's degree. I am stuck in this retrogression and my lawyer applied for EB3, and I have no choice but looking for another job that requires me a M.S. with higher salary so I could apply for EB2
Do you know where I can see which is the minimum wage for applying as EB2?? I remember in my Labor certification there was a place where I used to check minimal wage requirements.
I am rest of the world, and having an EB2 application will let me jump out of the retrogression if EB2 continues to be available

MY intention was not to make this India Specific, but to bring to light the lobbying effort....Although the Bill is not passed....it is silently being pushed. The Immigration reform and SKILL is being touted and shouted abt so much, that it becomes a scare for congressmen to even touch it, let alone pass it.
We have to work secretly more than ever..its important. and I hope IV is doing exactly that with Quinn and Gillespi

This was priority for the President all the time since he announced in March 2006 in India. Ofsourse everthing needs lobbying. And IV, I think is doing its best in this regard.
I think we should stop responding to this thread and leave it as it is. I am Indian and I am happy for India that this deal is passed. Now lets concentrate on our major problem, "The Green Card". Hope you all understand that.
